Ankik ....left us today.
I met Ankik in my first year at IITKgp. Infact meeting would be apropriate.He used to torture us.Every evening he would start blowing up the mike from our hostel common room,for what...bengali drams.He had the enthusiasm of 20 people all moulded into one.It began like this ...
Sourav chole aaye
Arnab chole aaye..
and so on.
It was so frustrating for muggus like me.
I mean i wanted to cut his tongue,but this guy is so magnanimous ,that hardly u can argue with him.
He was different from the mass.Shouting and lifting the whole of Meghnad Shah hostel,our hostel.Then we started playing soccer in the big field of MS.You would think Ankik is a guy from EC,wont play football.But and even if he plays looking at his demeanour,u think he will be a striker...What you see is a goalkeeper with gloves.He chooses the things that you wont believe.
The maggu thing might not be true. We know that Ankik takes part in sports and bengali drams,yet gets a 9 point CGPA,which is the sign of a bond. Even though i have heard people saying Ankik used to study in closed room throughout night...I never believed them.
We would again meet in the CAOS class,which was the worst subject i took at IIT by far.People like Ankik would make life bearable in such a boring class.He maid pranks on none other than professor . The boredom reduced a lot.
Finally the VLSI class in 2nd year summer was when we met again.I remember Ankik was scolded by the teacher once that he wont even study when he goes back to his room.Ankik´s reply came straight, Sir i can study for the entire night....He was always an example of how you should be at IIT ,to live your life the way you want.
Of course he had his magic performances at the job ,he bagged at JP Morgan .I was surprised that he could not get thru CAT. I always thought he had a bright future because of his confidence and attitude.
One final thing , i had seen a girl one day with Ankik.Lord she was beautiful.I always thought Ankik was an exceptional guy with little attraction towards woman.I was right ,that girl was his sister.For few moments ,i had a crush on her.I am confessing it to you Ankik,please forgive me.May your sister wherever she is rest in peace now.Certainly she is in a better place than earth.
But i am very sorry the whole point of this blog is to say goodbye to Ankik,his sister and his gf.FYI,they all were killed in Pune bomblast in V day.Even when he left us,i am sure he left for a better place than earth. Dude u rock!!!!!!Another message to terrorists.U make our life hell,but remember the day is not far when u will be wiped off earth´s surface .
